Who is OFD Consulting?

MEGHAN ELY, Owner

OFD Consulting owner, Meghan Ely, combines in-the-trenches event experience with a love of marketing, public relations and the wedding industry to empower her clients to take their businesses to new heights.

After graduating magna cum laude with a degree in Public Relations from James Madison University, she began her career at a historic Richmond estate, where she steadily increased sales through partnership marketing and re-entrance into the bridal show market after a 10-year absence. She next designed and implemented the first Banquet Marketing Plan for a popular local country club before joining the five-star, five-diamond Jefferson Hotel, where she consulted with the Marketing Team to optimize the property's placement in the local wedding market. In 2009, with over 200 weddings under her belt, Meghan launched OFD Consulting.

Meghan is a regular contributor to Virginia Bride Magazine and national wedding marketing journal WedLock Magazine. She co-authors a monthly column for brides in the Richmond Times Dispatch - Wedology 101: The Realities of Being a Bride, and shares wedding business tips in her own blog - Illuminate: Tips, Tricks and Bright Ideas for the Wedding Professional.

Meghan is a sought-after speaker on a broad range of wedding marketing and wedding PR topics at industry events and conferences. She serves as the charter Marketing Director for the Richmond Chapter of the National Association of Catering Executives (NACE) and produces the wedding business seminar Illuminate: The Workshop twice yearly to sold-out crowds of Virginia's top industry professionals.

Meghan was recently honored as one of the "Top 40 under 40" by Style Weekly Magazine.

HEATHER SNIFFIN, Chief Awesome Officer

Heather Sniffin is OFD Consulting's very own Chief Awesome Officer. Formerly the wedding planner for a 100-acre Richmond historical estate, Heather leverages her expert background to offer wedding marketing support to the OFD Consulting team. You'll frequently find Heather behind the scenes at events such as Illuminate: the Workshop. She is invaluable to OFD, contributing a constant stream of new ideas along with her fabulous attention to detail.

ARIANA EWING, Wedding PR Intern Extraordinaire

Ariana Ewing is OFD Consulting's Wedding PR Intern Extraordinaire. She has been part of the OFD family since September 2010 and is currently a student at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has a knack for writing, and her press releases have received both local and national attention. Ariana has a superior sense of style and loves to scour the latest wedding blogs and magazines to keep up on the trends. Her dedication, research and attention to the industry make her the perfect complement to this wedding marketing and wedding PR team!
