OFD is on the Lookout for a Fall Intern!

We’re thrilled to once again be offering a fall internship with OFD Consulting. Interested in joining the team? Please review the below and then contact Amanda at hello@ofdconsulting-staging.icoers6-liquidwebsites.com  for more information, as well as an application. The deadline is fast approaching (August 1!) and we look forward to hearing from you soon! ~Meghan

DUTIES

Specific duties of the intern vary each year depending upon new issues and marketing objectives, but could include:  writing promotional pieces; social media management (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Blogging); assisting with activities during events; appointment confirmations; involvement in promotions and research; and providing staff support. Intern will work a flexible schedule of 10-15 hours per week remotely. A weekly meeting will be requested to review current and future projects.  The internship is unpaid although OFD will gladly work with you on paperwork/requirements for college credits.

ELIGIBILITY

Eligible participants must be at least 18 years of age, a current college student and preferably residing in Richmond, Virginia, for the summer, although under the right circumstances, we have enjoyed successful internships with those working remotely. Preference will be given to those possessing strong communication and organizational skills, as well as maturity, creativity and the ability to work independently.  The candidate need not be from a wedding industry background and those with a 3.0 or better Grade Point Average is preferred.

SKILLS

The best candidate is a driven, organized and detail oriented individual who values on the job experience. An understanding of basic marketing and public relations is preferred and strong writing skills are required. Previous experience planning events is a plus. Candidate must take direction well, although the opportunity to be creative will be prevalent throughout the time spent at OFD. Public Relations is often a fast-paced environment so the ability to think quick and “on your feet” is a huge bonus.

Proficiency with Windows (or Mac OS), Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel) and Social Media Management (Twitter, Facebook, Blogging) is a must. Also, a proficiency in WordPress would be helpful.
